IELTS has two types of tests:

IELTS General
Choose this if you are planning to migrate to countries like Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. -
IELTS Test Format
IELTS uses a globally recognized 9-band scoring system, and your score remains valid for two years. The Listening and Speaking tests are the same for all candidates, while the Reading and Writing sections vary depending on whether you take the Academic or General test.”The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections are taken on the same day, one after the other, with no breaks in between. The Speaking test may be scheduled up to 7 days before or after the main test day.
Who can take the IELTS test?
IELTS can be taken by anyone planning to move abroad for study, work, or migration.If you are planning to study in English-speaking countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Portugal, or other similar destinations, you need to take IELTS Academic. Students applying for undergraduate or postgraduate studies abroad can take this test.
If you are planning to go abroad for a work visa, immigration, or dependent visa, you need to take IELTS General Training to prove your English language skills.
